I cooked my own celebratory dinner: Steamed Mussels, Corn, Sirloin Steak, and a salad. And then I pretty much ate an entire bag of Salt and Vinegar chips. Who’s a fatty? ::raises hand::

WWE Supershow!
Yesterday we went to the HP Pavilion to watch WWE’s Supershow: Monday Night Raw & Friday Night Smackdown! It’s the final time before any of the wrestlers touch each other (at least in the ring) before Wrestlemania, which is THIS Sunday! When EJ bought the tickets, we didn’t even know it was a double banger event. It wasn’t until after I went to the bathroom (which I fell on the way to, btw) that I found out we were going to see the taping for Friday Night Smackdown as well. I asked two random guys if it was over and their response was, “Oh, it’s FAR from over!” Here are the photos that didn’t end up being too blurry to publish.
I’m a little bummed I didn’t get any pictures of The Undertaker or any of the pyrotechnics. Which by the way, are a lot louder than I ever imagined. I screamed almost every time there was an explosion. Yeah, yeah. What a wuss, I know.
I am on a quest.
Anyone know where I can find these magnificent and nifty pieces of functionality/art?
Yawnzee
In the words of Mr. Man Phan, aka Chard, my blog is getting “yawnzee” so here’s my weekly update.
Last Sunday EJ (first timer), Lindy, and I went hiking up Mission Peak. It was hot and we were pooped, but we made it all the way up.
On St. Patty’s Day, EJ and I decided to go up to the city to celebrate at Casey & Lisa’s place. This is us, wasted, waiting for BART to take us to San Bruno where our car was parked.
Today EJ, Mario, and I decided to go to San Jose’s Flea Market on Berryessa so Mario can get his cousin Martin a Zippo lighter to take back with him to Italy, where he’s studying for a year. I had never been to the Flea when it was as crowded as it was today. It was also good to finally see the Chard himself, but I forgot to get him his birthday churro. I missed his birthday shenanigans at Motif, and now this? Some friend I am.
Mario and I found this little market under the produce tent that sold a lot of authentic Mexican items. Among these “items” were fried grasshoppers. I was disgusted and fascinated altogether. Mario saw this and bought an entire bagful of these suckers. After seeing EJ and Mario eat them without a problem, I decided to stop being a little pansy and try one for myself. Surprisingly, it wasn’t bad, but it’s nothing I’d go out of my way to try. They were seasoned beyond recognition of any buggy flavor, but the texture was exactly as I’d imagined: crunchy.
I also tried “al pastor” style pork for the first time at the Flea. I give it two thumbs up, but I still prefer carnitas.
In other non-visual news in the world of Kristy:
- I am now a member of the Yelp Elite ’10!
- EJ and I have found an apartment, and it’s secured! It’s damn beautiful. Bamboo floors. Stainless steel appliances. Granite counter tops. And most importantly, the bedroom closet spans the entire length of the wall! We got really lucky with this unit too. We were actually viewing another place, but had been told by our future landlady that it had just been applied for. It just so happens another one is opening up on our projected move-in date. I’m so excited to move in and settle into our new home, but I’m gonna miss hanging out with my fellow unemployed amigo Mario.
- Speaking of unemployment, I had an interview with Panha’s cousin Pheaktra in Pleasanton at the agency he works at. I tested really well for the programs and the outlook of my future employment looks really bright. I hope to open up my inbox tomorrow to some really good news.
Finally! I’ve finished recapping my week. Until next time, folks. I’ll try to keep it unyawnzee.

Soondoobu
I should probably spread my wings a bit more when it comes to Korean cuisine, but I can’t help it. If I’m able to, I just HAVE to order seafood soondoobu (I’m sorry if I’m butchering the spelling. It seems as though every place spells it differently.)
The other day, EJ (my boyfriend) and I went to SDG Tofu House on El Camino and ordered seafood soondoobu w/ udon. Wait, what? Udon? Check out the pic below for an idea.
It was quite marvelous. We got the extra spicy one and we couldn’t even finish it between the two of us. Definitely worth the twelve dollars, but I prefer the seafood soondobu and Myung Dong because they give you way more seafood.
Confirmation
Don’t you just love it when your little suspicions are confirmed? It’s somewhat empowering in a very egotistical way.
